While mowing I came across a very young fawn, hiding in the tall grass. Does hide their fawns while they go foraging, when the little ones are still too young to escape a predator. The new born fawns relie on hiding more than running, and they usually can be approached very close. Of course, when I spotted the fawn I aborted the mowing operation (leaving about half an acre of tall grass) and gave him some room. I came back later for a couple pictures, from some distance.
